About Us

Vercelli’s Restaurant was launched in 2008 following an extensive and tasteful refurbishment of the existing premises. Set in Priestpopple, the main street of the picturesque historic town of Hexham, it is within yards of Car Parking facilities and the Bus Station, and is central to the town’s main shopping area.

Louise Brison and Bridgette Ritchie, joint owners of the Restaurant, have considerable business experience in the area and confidently launched Vercelli’s as an enhancement to the already vibrant market town centre.

The Restaurant is a perfect venue both for those who live in Tynedale and the many tourists who pass through it.

The Team

Co-owners Louise and Bridgette are very much front-of-house taking a hands-on role in the dining area. They welcome the opportunity to meet and greet customers personally and to identify with diner tastes and preferences.

The hugely-experienced Head Chef, takes responsibility for the operational function of the Kitchen and food preparation. Not afraid to express his strong views on cooking he states “ I aim to keep the Menu simple but outstanding – combining traditional methods and the freshest ingredients, but with a modern twist……..I am not interested in powders or ready-made stocks and sauces – I use fresh ingredients so nature does most of the work!”.
